Do I need to know how to ride to take part?

No, most of our guests start from zero. Our routes are designed for every level, from first contact with a horse to more demanding trekking. Before each ride our instructors take the time to explain how to communicate with the horse, how to sit in the saddle, and what to do if you feel unsure. No rush, no judgment.

I'm a bit afraid of horses. Can I still take part?

Yes, it's more common than you'd think. Before the ride we'll introduce you to your horse gradually: you can pet it, feed it, and get to know its signals. Our horses are chosen for their calm temperament and are used to riders of every experience level. If at any point you feel uneasy, you can stop — no one will push you to continue.

Is there a weight limit or particular physical conditions to consider?

For the horse's wellbeing we apply a 110 kg (240 lb) limit. If you have any doubts or particular physical conditions (back problems, pregnancy, prosthetics, etc.) please let us know when booking: in many cases we can find a suitable solution. Riders with reduced mobility are welcome — contact us directly so we can look at the options together.

What's the minimum age to take part?

Children can take part from age 6, always accompanied by an adult. Between 6 and 10 we use particularly calm horses, with an instructor walking alongside for the whole route. There is no maximum age limit.

Are the routes active all year round?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we operate all year round. The best season runs from April to October, when the scenery is at its best and temperatures are ideal. In winter we offer shorter, atmospheric routes. Only in case of ice, heavy snow or storms will we suspend activity for safety, letting you know in advance.

What landscapes do the routes cross?

Our routes cross oak and holm oak woods, hilltop ridges overlooking the valley, ancient drover's trails and open fields. Some routes include stops at scenic viewpoints only reachable on horseback. It's the part of the territory you can't see from any road.

Question 7

Can I take photos and videos during the ride?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely, we actually encourage it. Your phone can be kept in a pocket or a small saddle bag. If you want your hands free, we recommend an action cam with a helmet strap. During stops our instructors are happy to take a few photos of you in the saddle.

Can I bring my dog?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the dog and the route. Well-socialized dogs, used to other animals and comfortable walking on a leash, may be allowed on some routes, provided you let us know when booking. The final decision is up to the instructor. Dogs that have never been around horses, or very small dogs, could create risky situations for everyone.

Can I bring my own horse?

Yes, we accept riders with their own horse by prior arrangement. The horse must be vaccinated and have up-to-date health documentation (equine passport). Boarding with box or paddock is available. Contact us at least a week in advance to organize the logistics.

What should I wear?

Accepted Answer

Required: long trousers without thick inner-thigh seams (avoid jeans), closed shoes with at least a 2 cm heel (hiking boots, ankle boots or riding boots). Sandals and open shoes are not allowed. Recommended: layered clothing, light gloves in cold months, sunscreen in summer. An approved helmet (EN 1384) and vest are provided free of charge; you're welcome to bring your own.

Who accompanies us during the ride?

All routes are led by instructors with a federal qualification (FISE or equivalent), trained in handling horses and safely guiding groups. The maximum ratio is 1 guide per 6 participants. For groups with children or complete beginners, the ratio drops to 1:4.

What happens in case of an emergency on the route?

Accepted Answer

Every guide carries a first-aid kit and a service phone active for the whole outing. Before departure we check signal coverage along the route and identify access points for emergency vehicles. In case of illness or accident, the ride is stopped and standard emergency procedures are activated.

Are we covered by insurance?

Accepted Answer

Yes, all participants are covered by our public liability policy, included in the price. For multi-day rides, or for anyone wanting broader accident coverage, additional insurance can be added when booking.
